An homage to JMW Turner's "Temeraire", it started as a study of Turner's masterpiece of the glorious HMS Temeraire unceremoniously being towed into the breaker's yard by a modern(at the time) steam-powered tug. My paintings are of my home waters and I like uplifting scenes, so I reimagined the somber sunset scene into a sunrise, with a fleet of Carolina Sportsmen heading out for a day of trolling on the Gulfstream for big game. I framed the painting with my signature, handcrafted solid mahogany frame, with the additional touch of adding a linen inner liner between the art and the frame. I think it's a special piece.
