Selected for the 2025 Wildlife in NC Magazine Calendar. My celebration of kayak fishing for feisty smallmouth bass on the New River. One of my favorite outdoor experiences these past few years has been kayaking down a river in search of river run fish. Even in the middle of summer you can still find shade, and cooler, oxygen-rich moving water, which holds active exciting fish. In this painting, I depict a trophy smallie ambushing a fluke plastic bait in a light rapid.  Framed in solid mahogany handcrafted by the artist.
