I did a small watercolor of this image many years ago. It's my Uncle Bill cutting bait on a cooler mounted on his fishing truck at the Cape Lookout point on Davis Island, NC. I called the watercolor "Bill's Truck", but this larger scale oil painting is named "Uncle Bill", because I realize that he is what this painting is about. Bill was a character. He took me, my cousins, and other assorted rowdys fishing on Davis Island every Thanksgiving Weekend and it inspired my love for fishing and the beauty of the Carolina Coast. The painting is 2 by 4 feet with the painted canvas wrapping around the 1 1/2" edges for a more modern unframed look.
